CARE: Communicating effectively about racial and health equity
Date: Feburary 09, 2023
The Collaborative for Anti-Racism and Equity (CARE) started as a group of partners all working to understand and support the movement to address racism as a public health crisis. In this two-day training, 3 BMSG staff led several CARE members and partners through an introduction to media advocacy and strategic communication fundamentals. Within a two-hour training, members learned to communicate effectively about health and racial equity and develop strategic messages to prepare for message delivery in high-stakes scenarios such as providing testimony, public comment, or a media interview. BMSG also provided a plethora of tools and resources so that all attendees could continue capacity building within their own organizations.
