Prevention Research Center at Washington University in St. Louis: Strategic communication to advance racial and health equity

Berkeley Media Studies Group trainers Shaddai Martinez Cuestas and Rosaura Wardsworth delivered a virtual foundational media advocacy training session for a group of community health coalitions working with their local communities in the Midwest, South and Southeast with a focus on nutrition and physical activity environments. This 1.5-hour virtual training introduced participants to foundational media advocacy concepts and helped participants to clarify their advocacy and communications goals, develop key messages, and identify next steps in their strategy. Following the training, BMSG provided technical assistance to support the coalitions through the individual challenges they were coming across in their work.
