Advertising Age's blogger Chiqui Cartagena discusses how the Nielsen Conference focused much more on multicultural audiences this year than in previous years. Coca-Cola's CMO Bea Perez says that "86% of the growth through 2020 for Coca-Cola's youth-target market will come from multicultural consumers, especially Hispanic, and that focusing on this segment was critical to the company's future growth."

As SF denounces soda, Coca-Cola donates $250,000 to parks

As part of Coca-Cola's "Live Positively" campaign, the beverage giant donates $250K to the Parks and Recreations Department in San Francisco. While Coca-Cola claims that the donation "has nothing to do with promoting its products," its logo appears on the Parks Trust website where users are encouraged to vote for the Golden Gate Park so that it can win $100K from Coca-Cola.
