Mapping the debate on food

In May 2001, the Labor Project for Working Families sought help for what was anticipated to be a long and arduous campaign to establish paid family leave in California. BMSG helped the organization develop a trained cadre of advocates around the state who would be able to speak effectively to journalists and at public hearings.

Media advocacy for healthier school and neighborhood environments

In this project, funded by The California Endowment, BMSG worked to increase the capacity of advocates and youth journalists to develop effective messaging and raise public awareness about the importance of healthier school and neighborhood environments in California.

Media advocacy training for the Healthy Silicon Valley Coalition

BMSG’s goal for this project was to help the leadership of Healthy Silicon Valley learn to frame the issue of obesity from an environmental prevention perspective, and begin to effectively raise their voices so policy makers would understand the kind of healthy environment they want to build.
